This Bride Is Wearing Her Wedding Dress To Do Her Daily Chores Because She Wants To 'Get Her Money's Worth'

If you've ever spent a small fortune on a wedding dress only for it to be packed away never to be seen again, you might want to take a leaf out of Dawn Winfield-Hunt's book, who has taken to wearing hers on a regular basis while enduring the most mundane, daily tasks.

The blushing bride from the Isle of White tied the knot earlier this month and has been making the most out of her £300 gown ever since, as she now wears it while she does the food shop, cleans, cooks and even goes paddle-boarding in it.

And despite wearing it dozens of times already, she has no plans of stopping anytime soon.

"Usually you only get to wear your dress once and then you put it in a box and forget about it," explained the office worker.

"But I liked mine and decided to wear it the following day for a BBQ with friends and everyone loved it."

Dawn has now even started a blog to keep people up-to-date on the adventures of her dress, explaining that her son thinks she's "mental."

"Both myself and Steve [her partner], who is a curriculum manager, have been married once before and we thought we would have a bit of fun this time," she added.

"Previously, like most women I put my dress away, never to be seen again but this one is going to have memories."

"I plan on wearing it every now and then until my first anniversary next year, it will be covered in seaweed, wine stains and probably won't even be white anymore but I don't care. I have cooked, cleaned and even done a bit of carpentry in it."

The 54-year-old is passionate about sustainability, and her eco-friendly wedding had no plastic and most of the decorations were handmade - the couple had dried rose petals for confetti and paper flowers.

The dress was bought from a local charity shop. "It still had the labels on and was meant to be £1,800, I have definitely got my moneys worth by wearing it on the weekends," she said.

Dawn now loves the joy that her wedding dress brings to others, saying: "The dress puts a smile on people's faces, many of which think it is my wedding day and congratulate me as they are passing by in the street."

"When I arrived at the check out in the supermarket, the lady said she had received a message through her earpiece saying 'bride in aisle 12' which is pretty funny."
