A year after Tarte pulled its first foundation inspired by the cult Tape Shape concealer beauty buffs all know and love, the Instafamous American cosmetics brand is back with a newer, updated version.
Shoppers originally criticised Tarte for its first foundation released in 2018, which sprung off the successes of the holy grail concealer, for its lack of inclusivity in its limited shade range.

But now Tarte is back with the 50 shade-strong, matte finish foundation called Face Tape, boasting a five different undertones - beige, neutral, honey, sand and golden - with a unique numbering system to help beauty lovers find their perfect match.
Promising a flawlessly natural-matte look, the formula combines skin-loving ingredients to make it waterproof, sweat-proof and transfer-proof.
The foundation combines snow mushroom and apple fruit extracts with moisture boosting hyaluronic acid to brighten and hydrate your complexion as well as protect your skin against environmental nasties.
"You asked, we listened. Introducing face tape foundation: Inspired by our iconic shape tape concealer to give you a flawless, natural matte finish," announced the cosmetics brand on Instagram.
"Actions speak louder than words, so we've been working around-the-clock behind the scenes over the past year to bring you the full-coverage foundation of your dreams!"
Tarte's new product comes with a pump replacing the previous doe-foot applicator customers didn't love, and it is all in a bottle that echoes the design of Tape Shape concealer.
The new updated formula is also vegan.
Face Tape will be available to order from 17th February, and there is the option to sign up online so you are alerted as soon as the exciting beauty launch drops on site.
The foundation is priced at £33, and the cosmetics company says its the perfect partner for its holy grail concealer
