Whoever is in charge of product development at ASOS might secretly be a marketing genius. The amount of times I've written articles about their outrageous, ugly, stupid, and hilarious products has been ridiculous. If all publicity is good publicity then ASOS are definitely absolutely slaying the competition.

Their latest product sending people into a tailspin is their masculine twist on the choker fad that's been going around for the past few years. Yep, chokers, but for men. That's what I call a twist!

The problem with this new trend is two fold. Firstly, what's to stop a chap wearing a 'women's' choker? What about it makes it for men? Secondly, it's that the chokers they've created are just pretty horrible. Look at these bland, boring monstrosities:

Look, you want to make a bold fashion statement by being a man wearing a choker? Fine. Cool. Whatever. You do you, hun. But you damn well better do something better than wrapping a small piece of velvet or string around your throat and being done with it.

Frankly, I feel personally victimised by the fact that ASOS are charging up to £14 for something that could literally be described as a piece of fabric. If anyone wants to pay me £14 for a choker I'll cut a piece of my curtains and send it to you, okay? Jesus.

Safe to say, opinion has been mixed:

To be fair, I'm astounded they haven't tried to appeal to all the fellas suffering some serious cases of fragile masculinity by calling them 'blokers'! Can you imagine?
