There's no shortage of mum and daughter matching looks, or even dad and son. But one British retailer is trying to change that by offering more options.
Matalan has released a collection of matching clothes for dads and daughters so they no longer feel left out. The collection is tied together by one print, which is found on a men's shirts and two girls dresses.
The men's 100 per cent cotton shirt retails at £16, while the girls dress (for 4-13 years old) retails at between £12 and £14 and the baby girl dress (for girls 6-9 months old) between £10 and £12.
There are also two shirts for little boys with the print too, the all over floral print one (for baby boys 6-9 months old) retailing between £7 and £8 and the plain blue with floral print bow tie (for boys 4-13 years old) between £8 and £9.
Matalan is continuing to build an inclusive approach to its retailing. Back in 2017, they made Lily Beddall, a two-year-old girl with Down syndrome, the face of the clothing chain. They put her photograph on show in each of the chain's 217 UK stores after she won a competition to be the face of the clothing brand.
Later that year, Matalan also launched matching mother and daughter Christmas dresses and they finally got round to including dads too. ASDA also released a collection for mothers and daughters around the same time, but it took River Island nearly a year later to jump on board.
Matching couples fashion has been around for sometime with stores like Couple Stuffs and you can also find an array of independent designers offering this over on Etsy. Some celebrity couples who are well known for their matching looks are Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, as well as Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik.
