Leopard Print Midi Skirts Are The New Zara Midi Dress And Even Have Their Own Instagram Account

Looks like this is the hottest trend of the season.

It's been months since Zara's spotty monochrome midi dress made national news for being the dress of the summer and still not a day goes by where we don't spot at least two of them on the tube or in the office.

But it might be time to make space in your closet for a new staple item as leopard print midi skirts are the latest craze.

Oh, and like its high-street predecessor, there's even an Instagram account dedicated to this must have piece.

What started off as a shrine to the Réalisation Par version that Selena Gomez was spotted out and about in last summer, @leopardmidiskirt shares photos of the animal-print piece out in the wild, and it's been spotted at the airport, crossing the street, out at dinner, on the subway and even on the beach.

Talk about versatility.

We've been keeping our eye on this account for inspo on how to style our very own leopard print skirts, which include everything from pairing it with a pair of sneakers and a casual tee (this is the most popular way to wear it, FYI) to smart shirts, sandals, boots and heels for when you want to dress it up for a night out.

According to The Cut, @leopardmidiskirt was started by 23-year-old Rilka Noel who originally used to send mocking Snapchats of the skirt to her close friends before realizing it could make a funny Instagram account.

The account has quickly amassed more than 7,000 followers, with Rilka saying: "I think it's picking up because there's no one easier to make fun of than basic bi**hes.

"And I'm saying that in the nicest way possible. I'm living for everyone in their leopard print midi skirts."

In the name of research, we've done a bit of digging to find out where you can snap up your own leopard print midi and you're welcome.

For just £22, this ruffled number from ASOS number is flying off the site, while we're loving this 15 quid Nasty Gal skirt which is an absolute steal.

There are styles at Boohoo, I Saw It First and Motel Rocks, too, while if you want to shake up the colour palette a little bit, we recommend this pink one from Topshop.

Don't say we aren't good to you.
