When the sun puts his hat on and comes out to play, us gals often panic at the thought of what to wear.
But Gok Wan knows a thing about summer dressing, and the fashion stylist-come-DJ has exclusively told PRETTY52 about the top three trends we should all be wearing now that the sun is here to stay.

According to Gok, it's either go big or go home this spring/summer. He explained: "Everything is massively exaggerated and it kind of fits over lots of different trends, whether that's colour or print.
"Everything is a big old statement. We're seeing absolutely huge shoulders, oversized lapels, we're seeing big bold colours. So keep it big and bold, and absolutely exaggerated.
"It's probably the most forward thinking we have as a spring/summer trend in a long time. We usually save all those dynamics for autumn/winter, but actually this summer its super strong."
Celeb stylist Gok says that you have also got to be brave when matching patterns and colours together this summer, as clashing is a second 'absolutely huge' trend.

He recalled: "Gucci, a couple of years ago, started the trend by putting out all those incredible prints that clashed, all those bright, big bold colours.
"Whether you're choosing micro-prints and oversized statement prints, or you're choosing colour-blocking or anything that clashes, that looks like it's arguing slightly with each other is another huge trend."
If huge shoulders or clashing prints are too in your face, then Gok's final, must-have trend is a little more understated.

It's all about floaty textures this summer too, with Gok adding: "The most prolific trend that we have got going at the moment is the kind of outside hippy. It's all really global, with lots of African textures, African-inspired prints.
"There's obviously the Woodstock and the boho that comes in every spring/summer, but everything is looking really understated."
If you really want to splash your cash on just one stand-out piece this summer, then the celeb stylist has also got you all covered, not matter your size or shape.

"There's never one single piece that every woman should have really because of course all women are completely unique and have different body shapes," pointed out Gok.
"I would say if you had to go for something, that was the most generic of pieces, I would probably say a bardot, off the shoulder maxi dress.
"It works across loads of different trends. It's obviously very good and light and airy for the summer. It also works with most body shapes."
Now that we know the top three trends for everyday dressing, Gok's also got a way to prevent the dreaded outfit clash at a wedding this summer - although if it does happen, he told us to just 'style it out'.

Gok, who has been working alongside fashion brand TK Maxx, suggested: "What I advise is choice. Make you sure you have enough brands and styles to pick from to ensure your style decision is the right one. And that's something that TK Maxx always gets right... lots to choose from.
"Why blow half your year's clothing allowance on one outfit, when you can shop for such great value on a whole range of products from clothing to accessories.
"Also, with our lives getting so much busier you can now find the perfect outfit online from the comfort of your sofa, or at your office desk (obviously in your lunch break!)."
