A Belt Now Exists To Stop Your Jeans Gaping At The Back

Not only is it notoriously difficult to find a great-fitting pair of jeans, there is also the common problem of when you have found the perfect pair - that they then gape at the back.

One stellar product on Amazon is now the solution to this long-awaited problem.

Priced at just under £9, the elastic belt belt comes in five colours to suit different tastes and needs and and can be adjusted at the back to pull in that dreaded gape. And, because it hooks onto the front belt loops of your jeans, there's no need to fuss with undoing belt buckles each time you take a trip to the loo.

The reviews are good too - as of this morning, there are 333 reviews, with an average of 4.5 star rating.

"This belt is pretty genius," said one reviewer. "Just found these belts, and used over the weekend. If you have a smallish waist & bigger bottom, so hollow backed that jeans never fit snugly round the back, these are for you. Also no need to undo belt when nature calls," said another. Another version of the belt can also be purchased over on FreeBelts FreeBelts, dubbed 'The Buckle Free Belt'.

The belt is also useful for those who have jeans of different sizes. Last week, one woman's post went viral after she posted a picture on Twitter of all seven pairs of jeans that she owns, all of which claimed to be a size 12. The picture showed each pair of jeans looking vastly different in sizes.

She captioned the photo "In case you've ever wondered why women get so frustrated with our clothing sizes - every pair of jeans pictured, is a size 12," said Twitter user Chloe Martin. She later added: "And you know what's even funnier, the very bottom pair fit me perfectly, the 2nd pair from the top, are too small, how does that even make sense when the top pair is bigger????"

One user replied to her tweet saying that the problem is in the waist. "Because the 'waist' they choose to use as the waist measurement is a totally arbitrary midway between waist & hips and not the natural waist. It's so exhausting."

Which is why the Amazon elastic belt is a godsend for adding that extra touch to make sure our jeans fit a little better. Here's to a cosier fit all round.
