Adele is such a treasure. Not only is she one of the greatest pop singers of a generation, but she's also absolutely hilarious, totally down to earth, and all in all, a pretty amazing role model for a whole lot of people. How anyone could hate Adele really is beyond us.

But success breeds envy, and plenty of people took to Twitter after the Grammys to troll Adele for her outfit. Apparently they decided that was more important than applauding Adele for winning an armful of awards and taking part in one of the most incredible displays of female solidarity the world has ever seen when she gave her Best Album Grammy to Beyoncé.

But no, apparently none of that was important at all to some people, because they were busy criticising Adele's outfit and claiming that she looked like Princess Fiona from the Shrek films.

But Adele didn't take the criticism lying down.

Speaking to the audience at her live show in Perth, Adele clapped back to the haters by reminding them all that the dress was a symbol of her success and if they can't handle that success then they need to get off the bus:

Before the Grammys I had this dress right, I wore this green dress, everyone said I looked like Fiona from Shrek. They did.
I worked out. Obviously I'm a large lady and I like eating food very much, but I was working out twice a day to fit into that Givenchy dress because it was quite tight.

I don't f*cking care. It was Givenchy Couture! They can say what they want.

Let's face it, what with Adele making an extortionate amount of money at every show she performs at, there are probably few things she's less interested in than the opinions of some internet trolls!

To be fair, considering that Princess Fiona is a kick-ass warrior princess who is trained in martial arts and can make birds explode with nothing but her voice, we can certainly think of worse people to be compared to. Fiona is feminism goals, let's be real here!
