This Is The Best Beach In The World For Your Summer Holiday, According To New Research

Whether you're looking for an isolated stretch of sand in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean or a family-friendly resort in the Caribbean, there are enough holiday options out there to suit every type of traveller.

And if it's pure beauty you're after though, Alpha Travel Insurance recently set out to rank the world's best beaches and the results are finally in.

Rated on a number of factors including visitor ratings, weather, activities, restaurants, hotels and nightlife, Grace Bay on the Turks & Caicos Islands is the highest rated beach overall scoring 96 out of 100, with Pink Sands Beach on Harbor Island, Bahamas and Anse Source D'Argent in La Digue Island Seychelles coming in at a close second and third place respectively.

Grace Bay on the Turks & Caicos Islands is the highest rated beach overall

While Grace Bay and Pink Sand Beach both scored 20 out of 20 in the visitor ratings for the beaches themselves, Pink Sands just missed out on the top spot due to the fact it sees fewer days of sunshine per year - 223 days compared to Grace Bay's 319.

La Digue, Seychelles scored third on the list

If it's a scorcher you're after, Mexico came out on top as the hottest destination with an average temperature of 30C. It's also home to most beaches in the top 25 list, with three beaches scoring an impressive 67, 83 and 84 out of 100.

Mexico boasts the most number of beaches in the top 25

For those who enjoy a bit of an adrenaline rush with their white bits, Thailand's Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi came out on top for number of activities boasting a whopping 61 to choose from.

The beaches with the highest visitor rating activities overall are Varadero Beach, Cuba; Anse Source D'Argent, La Digue Island, Seychelles; Hidden Beach, El Nido, Philippines - all having an impressive five out five visitor rating for activities.

The list has plenty of options for adrenaline junkies

Fancy yourself a bit of a party animal? Then it's back to Grace Bay which got top marks for its nightlife in terms of visitor rating while Bavaro Beach, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic has the most options when it comes to nightlife, with 19 major bars and nightclubs close by.

"Holidaymakers often have different wants or needs from their well-deserved trip but something most people can agree on is that a nice, warm and dry holiday means making the most of your time away," said an Alpha representative.

"Grace Bay (Turks & Caicos Islands), Pink Sands Beach (Harbor Island, Bahamas) and Anse Source D'Argent (La Digue Island, Seychelles) are leading the way as the top beaches in the world scoring high when it comes to accommodation, weather, activities available and nightlife - giving holidaymakers all they need to enjoy their holiday!"
