Looking for the perfect spot for your next selfie? Well you're in luck as Brighton Marina has been named as the most Instagrammable location in the UK.

According to a study by Google Pixel 3a, the sunny seaside spot narrowly beat off competition by Oxford University and Tower Bridge in London to claim the coveted title

London's picturesque Tower Bridge was cited as the best place for a photo in the capital followed by London Eye, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace.

According to the study, when Brits were given the option to spend £500 on travel anywhere the world they named Paris as the number one spot closely followed by the UK's very own Lake District.

Speaking about the study, portrait photographer Linda Blacker said: "The best backdrops are those that are instantly recognisable like London's/UK's top spot, because this provides an exciting opportunity to capture an iconic landmark in a whole new way, your way.

"However, no matter how great the backdrop is, having a camera that you can rely on to capture a high-quality image first time, every time is essential.

"This is particularly important at locations with high footfall, like many popular landmarks, where you might only have one chance to take the perfect snap."

The news comes two months after London was voted Europe's most Instagrammable city.

According to research by holiday rental website HomeToGo, our capital blows all the other cities out of the water when it comes to the photo-sharing platform.

The research looked at which destinations had the most hashtags on Instagram to determine which cities were the most Instagrammed.

Top of the list was London, with nearly 120 million hashtags, followed by Paris, with over 100 million hashtags, and Barcelona, with nearly 50 million hashtags.

As well as famous landmarks, other popular London places that drew Instagrammers by the thousands include the colourful houses of Primrose Hill, the floral-covered Peggy Porschen Parlour, and the uber chic pink interiors at Sketch.
