Does anyone actually understand what drives Piers Morgan? It's clearly not a human heart because judging by his tweets and comments on television, he doesn't have one of those. Maybe he's fueled by pure bitterness towards the rest of the human race.

Still, for every monster that exists, there's an angel to save us and today J.K Rowling is that angel. The creator of the Harry Potter series has been battling Piers on Twitter all day and honestly, it's pretty hilarious. Both sides have been flinging about as much mud at each other as are physically capable of doing in 140 characters and its beautiful.

It all started when Piers got told to 'f*ck off' on a chat show last night. He was attempting to defend his friend Donald Trump and his 'Muslim ban'. Piers argued that the immigration ban from six majority-Muslim countries isn't a Muslim ban. Of course, in many ways it isn't, but it is about as close as Donald Trump could physically get to banning all Muslims from entering America without tearing up the country's entire constitution.

Piers' co-hosts treated his view with derision and made the very fair argument that Hitler didn't attempt to kill all the Jews during his first month in office. We'll let you watch it for yourselves:

Anyway, J.K was loving watching Piers getting roasted and decided to tweet about it:

And then it all kicked off...

And then J.K called Piers' 'journalistic' past into question...

And Piers wasn't happy about that at all...

But J.K had the best comeback!

And it wasn't long before Piers started deleting tweets:

And since then J.K has been revelling in her victory with some hilarious tweets and retweets:

Joanne Rowling, we salute you. You're the hero we all deserve.
