After being hit by a car, Saul was left with injuries to his jaw, teeth and one of his eyes meaning he was left with a permanent frown.

Let's face it, none of us like to be in hospital, especially this cat who looked less than impressed about being admitted after being hit by a car.

However, what we all like is pictures of grumpy cats and Saul definitely fits in that category.

Now affectionately known as Grumpy Cat 2.0, Saul made his feelings about being taken to RSPCA's animal hospital pretty clear.

The ginger cat couldn't stop frowning after he was admitted to RSPCA's Putney, London hospital with injuries to his jaw, teeth and one of his eyes. I mean, we don't blame him for not being too cheery.

He was found on 15th October in Peckham High Street, where he had been hit by a car, but all the staff at the hospital were able to give him the correct treatment to help him recover.

Unfortunately, Saul wasn't microchipped and staff believe he was living as a stray, but despite his angry expression he is apparently extremely friendly.

RSPCA's London veterinary director, Caroline Allen, said: "Saul was brought in by one of our animal collection officers after a gentleman found him wandering along the High Street in Peckham in the rain.

"He was in a very sorry state with and had discharge coming from his eyes and nose and looked very poorly indeed.

"We believe he was involved in a road traffic accident as we found he had injured his jaw, teeth and one eye - all leading to his rather unique look!

"He's had to have his jaw wired so it's no surprise he's a little grumpy!"

Although Saul doesn't have the capability to properly express when he is enjoying himself, the feline does stick out a cheeky tongue when he is happy and it's adorable.

Caroline added: "Despite his constant scowl, Saul's actually really sweet and friendly.

"He's recovering really well from his injuries and we hope he will soon be ready to move to our cattery at Southall to find a new home as we don't rehome directly from the hospital.

"However, we do ask that you please don't call us at the hospital about Saul as we need the lines clear for emergency calls to help more animals like him.

"We're sure someone will fall in love with this glum-looking puss! In fact, we think he could be a bit of a star. We're sure he'd give Grumpy Cat a run for his money - that's why we're affectionately nicknaming him Grumpy Cat 2.0!"
