A series of emotional pictures show a grieving bride breaking down over the grave of her late fiancé on the day they were supposed to get married, and the touching photo shoot has now gone viral for its heartbreaking message.

Jessica Padgett decided to honour their wedding day by visiting the grave of her husband-to-be Kendall James Murphy, a firefighter who was killed in a car accident in November last year, aged just 27.

Enlisting the help of Loving Life Photography, Jessica put on her wedding dress and captured the now-heartbreaking date on camera to create a moving tribute to her late partner on 20th September.

"It's hard when you miss someone. But, you know, if you miss them you were BLESSED. It means you had someone special in your life, someone worth missing," read the post on the Loving Life Photography Facebook page.

"She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the Universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings."

Photos show Jessica getting ready with her friends and family, and in another she can be seen holding up her husband-to-be's boots, who has been photoshopped into the image.

Other pictures show Jessica weeping over Kendall's gravestone as her family stand close by.

The couple's maid of honour and best man gave speeches on the day, and guests lit paper sky lanterns before setting them free.

Kendall died after he was struck by his colleague Colby Blake - who allegedly had a blood alcohol level over double the legal limit last November.

They were responding to a call about a driver stuck in his vehicle, and Kendall arrived at the scene in his own car.

As he stepped out of his vehicle to get his protective clothing, Blake rear-ended another truck with is own, which moved forward and hit Kendall.

Blake was arrested and charged with with 'causing death while operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .15 or more', although the case has not yet been set for trial.

The National Fallen Firefighters Association said of Kendall: "He had a true servant's heart and captivating personality that would light up any room.

"His wittiness would make anyone laugh and have him making friends in no time. He didn't know a stranger."
