Earlier this week it was reported that footballer Wayne Rooney had been caught drink driving in his Cheshire hometown.

Shortly after 2am on September 1st he was pulled over and arrested by Cheshire Police, who believed he was over the legal limit at the time.

Lettings officer Laura Simpson was also in the car with Wayne when he was stopped by police officers.

The pair had reportedly been enjoying a night at cocktail bar in Alderley Edge before driving home, where they had been drinking vodka and prosecco.

Explaining what had happened between them that night, Laura told the MailOnline: "He kept admiring my clingy top and asking what size they were, saying "Are they real?" We had a kiss, a hug and some banter, harmless fun."

She added: "I'm not a marriage wrecker."

Laura also confessed that Wayne looked visibly 'p****d off' when he was stopped by police, and was 'worried' about what would happen next.

But despite claiming she did not want to put Wayne's marriage to Coleen Rooney in jeopardy, the 29-year-old has since been inundated with harsh comments from online trolls.

Clearly affected by the social media backlash, she hit back at one of her critics in a scathing tweet.

Now deleted, it read: "Noone ruined you're life publically... stop trying to annihilate me you chubby h*e."

Her sister, too, joined the argument, writing on the social media platform: "Athetic little c**ts who don't know s**t tagging then deleting tweets about my sister. F**k off ppan face you ugly c**t."

Laura retweeted her sister's expletive statement, before tweeting on her own account: "Tag your fat friend".

Things then took a bizarre direction as she began to hint at the potential for an appearance on this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Retweeting a friend who suggested the idea, she seemed keen to go down under.

It came as the rumoured line-up for this year's show was revealed, with TOWIE's Megan McKenna and Danielle Armstrong among those hoping to follow in Gemma Collins' jungle footsteps.
