Westlife 'Confirm Reunion And New Music' But Brian McFadden Won't Be Returning

Westlife 'Confirm Reunion And New Music' But Brian McFadden Won't Be Returning

Ultimate boy band Westlife are reuniting with new music and a new tour, according to reports.

Not everyone will be making a comeback though, as original band member Brian McFadden is said to not be joining the reunion.

The band broke hearts when they parted ways in 2012, but Brian pursued a solo career in 2004.

"It's signed, sealed and delivered and it's definitely happening - and it absolutely does not include Brian McFadden," an industry insider told The Sun.

"The other guys have been lined up to return to the studio and record some new songs and tour dates have even been organised, so it's definitely going ahead this time."

The music source insisted that while there has been plenty of speculation in recent years, this time it's a done deal, with Shane Filan, Markus Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan signing contracts.

The paper reports that the band have signed up to a different label, 'snubbing' mentor Simon Cowell' with the decision.

This time around, they will apparently be releasing music with Universal, rather than the music mogul's own label, Syco.

Sources suggested that Simon only wanted a Westlife reunion if Brian was involved to give fans something 'extra'.

The insider continued: "That meant Brian and his unpredictability. It would give the Westlife reunion the tension it needs."

Last April, the bandmates turned down a cash deal from Simon, worth around $10 million each, if they reunited to their original line-up.

Earlier this year, the band's former manager, Louis Walsh, said that if the band were going to reunite, it wouldn't be until 2019.

"It's up to them to decide. I can't tell me what they want to do," the former X Factor judge explained.

Since Westlife split, the band members each went in different directions, with some signing up to reality shows and others releasing solo music.

Shane released three albums, Nicky now presents 2fm and Dancing With The Stars, and Kian was crowned king of the I'm A Celebrity jungle in 2013.

Brian and Markus also released their own solo music after the band broke-up.
