Meghan Markle is well known for her effortless style, but during her latest royal tour, the Duchess has been spotted wearing a rather unusual accessory.

As she greeted crowds in Melbourne, Megan was spotted wearing a necklace made from pasta and ribbon and it had a few people confused.

The necklace was made by six-year-old Gavin Hazelwood who personally gifted the custom piece of jewellery to Meghan.

Gavin called in sick to school after 'waking up with a cough', before making his way to the barriers on Government House Drive in Melbourne's Royal Botanic Garden to give Meghan the necklace he had spent all morning making.

Of course, he made sure the necklace was extra special as he painted the pasta gold and threaded it onto blue ribbon- which just happened to match Meghan's dress.

Gavin made the extra effort and wore a mini pilot's uniform to catch the royal's attention and held a sign that read 'I made you a necklace'.

Meghan wore the necklace until she attended a formal reception inside Government House, where she showed off her Aussie Rules football skills.

The tour has been full of adorable children, which is useful considering their latest news of a royal baby.

Five-year-old Luke Vincent came out from the crowds of schoolchildren at Dubbo, New South Wales, to wrap his arms around Harry, before tugging on the prince's beard.

Luke, who has Down's Syndrome, gave Meghan a cuddle too, handing the pregnant duchess a beautiful bunch of flowers to take on her way.

The boy, who is a kindergarten at Buningyong Public School, seemed to be transfixed by Prince Harry's facial hair, sweetly stroking it before giving it a playful tug.

"He got a hug from Meghan and then Harry bent down to speak to him and Luke didn't give him any choice!" recalled the school's principal, Anne Van Dartel.

She continued: "Luke's favourite person in the world is Santa Claus, who has a beard. And now his next favourite is Prince Harry.

"It's been a wonderful experience for these little country kids to meet people they've only ever seen on TV."

Meghan and Harry also dished out hugs to the rest of the school children, but it seems like it was little Luke who stole the show as they welcomed the expectant parents at the town's airport.
