Price Harry broke royal protocol when he hugged an hysterical teenager in the crowd during his visit to Melbourne.

The teen waited for hours to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their visit to the city as part of their first international royal tour as newlyweds.

India Brown, 19, is a huge fan of Prince Harry, waiting all morning to see him with a sign saying that she had 'been here since 4am. Loved you since I was 8!'

Of course, Harry spotted the sign and made his way over to India, who asked the Prince for a hug- despite it being against the rules.

Harry through caution to the wind and leaned over to comfort the overwhelmed teen.

Speaking to reporters after the hug, India said: "He is someone I have looked up to for many many years.

"Everything he stands for is amazing. I've loved that family since I was eight and I've followed them around the world.

"He just said: 'You are going to get me into trouble'.

"It was just such an opportunity and I just went for it. I didn't expect it to happen because it's actually against protocol. He reciprocated the hug too. It was awesome."

Harry and Meghan have only been in Australia for three days but they have already stole a few hearts.

Five-year-old Luke Vincent came out from the crowds of schoolchildren at Dubbo, New South Wales, to wrap his arms around Harry, before tugging on the prince's beard.

Luke, who has Down's Syndrome, gave Meghan a cuddle too, giving the pregnant duchess a beautiful bunch of flowers to take on her way.

The boy, who is a kindergarten at Buningyong Public School, seemed to be transfixed by Prince Harry's facial hair, sweetly stroking it before giving it a playful tug.

"He got a hug from Meghan and then Harry bent down to speak to him and Luke didn't give him any choice!" recalled the school's principal, Anne Van Dartel.

She continued: "Luke's favourite person in the world is Santa Claus, who has a beard. And now his next favourite is Prince Harry.

"It's been a wonderful experience for these little country kids to meet people they've only ever seen on TV."
