They're understandably not hoping for the stolen goods to be returned but police in New Zealand are on the hunt for two local women dubbed the 'butt plug bandits' after being accused of stealing some pretty intense sex toys.

According to Newshub, the two women entered an adult store called Peaches and Cream in Lower Hutt, NZ last week before leaving with a larger bag than when they entered filled with sex toys. They reportedly hadn't paid for the kinky items.

The pair allegedly stole goods totalling over NZ $1,000 (around £530).

This included two 'anal climaxers' worth more than NZ $300 (£160) each, as well as a designer vibrator worth upwards of NZ $250 (£130) and a leopard print dress costing NZ $95 (£50). They also attempted to take a wand vibrator costing NZ $220 (£120).

As the women walked towards the exit staff noticed that their bags appeared to be much larger than when they entered - pretty suspicious.

Staff then approached the pair and offered them the chance to hand over the saucy toys they were attempting to steal.

A staff member who spoke to Newshub described that one of the women "looked pretty scared" and opened up her bag to return the contraband sex toys and apologised.

The other woman refused to show staff the contents of her bag and walked off.

"I gave her multiple chances to return the item, but she said no," the unnamed member of staff explained.

The team at the store have a policy of posting CCTV footage of shoplifters to the 'Peaches and Cream' Facebook page as a warning to other local shop owners - and these two women were no exception.

Since the post went live, local people have identified the women and claim they've previously targeted other shops in the area.

"[Catching shoplifters is] not what we work in our stores for . We want to work with customers.

"We'd rather give our attention to genuine customers. It just takes away from the customer experience when we have to be on guard," the staff member said.

A police report was filed and cops informed the news outlet they had carried out an 'initial forensic analysis'.

We don't really want to know what they were referring to and hope they wore gloves.

According to Peaches and Cream's CEO this isn't the first time that the adult shop has been targeted by local thieves.

They told Newshub: "They steal lube, they steal vibrators, they steal masturbators, they steal lingerie, they steal DVDs.

They continued: "I think most of it would be personal use but some are stealing products to resell."

If caught, the thieves are taken to court and ordered to reimburse the store for the items they stole.

The CEO added: "We don't normally want them back."

We get that.
