'Drunk' Man Mistakes Shop Window For Cash Machine And We Can Totally Relate

Despite standing just inches from a real ATM, he tried to use his card to extract money... from a glass window.

From buying shots when you have a 9am meeting in the morning to making friends with every girl you bump into in the toilets - we all do daft things after a few too many glasses of pinot grigio.

But a seemingly drunk reveller took the prize when he was caught on camera mistaking a shop window for a cash machine - despite standing right next to an actual ATM.

The footage was captured last week by 24-year-old Harry Levison, from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, who was sitting in traffic on his way home from work when he spotted the unusual sight.

Rifling through his wallet to pull out multiple bank cards to try, the unnamed man appeared confused as he repeatedly failed to draw cash from the window.

Hilarious footage shows him jabbing his card into the glass, perplexed as to why the 'machine' won't accept it.

According to Harry, who was watching from the top deck of a bus, the man even tapped on the glass believing it to be a touch-screen.

In the clip, the man is standing in the rain crouching down for a better look at the 'screen', but doesn't realise he's trying to enter his card into a window.

Harry, who works as a careers adviser, said: "We couldn't stop laughing when we spotted what the guy was doing.

"When I first saw him he was rifling through his wallet so I've no idea how many cards he'd tried before that. But he was trying everything, bless him."

Harry and his girlfriend Steph Martin were travelling home at rush hour on Thursday 4th April when they spotted the confused man.

Harry was so amused by what he witnessed, he took out his phone to record it and show his mates.

"I said to my girlfriend, 'I'm pretty sure that guy's trying to use the window as a cash machine when there's one just there'," he explained.

"This was only around 5pm after I'd finished work and it was midweek - not particularly a busy night to go out.

"We were going across on the bus in slowly moving traffic. He was already there when we pulled up and stayed there for a few minutes readjusting his card.

"He was tapping on the window and looked a bit unsteady. I think his view of the actual cash machine might have been blocked by the black pole next to him.

"By the time we set off again he was still there - I've no idea how long he must have stayed there for.

"We were just having a laugh on the bus. In Newcastle you do see a fair amount of strange things but I'm not always on my phone. I'm not that responsive and never record things, but this time my girlfriend was there [to suggest I recorded it]."
