Pick up your phone and head straight to Instagram as we've got a super important new account for you to follow: the very own page of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The couple have just launched their very own Instagram account at @sussexroyal, with the description reading: "The official Instagram account of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

Although the couple's page has just been launched, it already has nearly 200,000 thousand followers. It's following just three other accounts: @clarencehouse, @kensingtonpalace and @theroyalfamily.

So far, the couple has shared just one post, writing: "'Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.'- Harry & Meghan".

The news that the couple has their own Instagram account is another step in the separation of their royal household from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's.

The post is accompanied by the couple's royal monogram and images of Harry and Meghan performing their royal duties, as well as some of the causes they champion.

Most tellingly, there is a photo of Meghan meeting an elderly fan in Fraser Island, Australia, dressed in a gorgeous sun dress by American brand Reformation with a thigh-high slit.

Though we think the Duchess always looks gorgeous, when photos of her in the dress emerged, she was unfortunately subjected to uncalled-for criticisms, with people branding her look "inappropriate" and "disrespectful" over on the Kensington Palace Instagram page.

Sadly, the Duchess is no stranger to constant sexist criticism and shaming, so we'd like to think she chose this photo for her very first Instagram outing as a royal to show her critics she can wear exactly what she likes, thank you very much.

The Duchess was a big fan of Instagram before shutting down her personal social media accounts ahead of her wedding to the Duke, sharing photos of her dogs, travel updates and pictures with friends, so we can't wait to see what else is to come on the couple's account.
