Two anonymous poets have created a moving tribute to BBC presenter Rachael Bland, who passed away earlier this week two years after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Mum-of-one Rachael died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Wednesday morning, with her husband Steve by her side.

Instagram account All On The Board have now created a beautiful board at North Greenwich underground station in London, praising Rachael for 'showing courage in the face of adversity'.

The poem began: "We can all make a difference with our time on earth, and make that world a better place;

"Rachael Bland, you have done so much for so many people, with style, humour and grace.

"Even in death there is laughter to be found, you have battled cancer so bravely and with dignity;

"A brilliant mum, wife and broadcaster helping others to cope, showing amazing courage in the face of adversity."

It continued: "Nothing in life is certain, only we all face a final curtain.

"We are inspired by you and as your next adventure begins; please know you have changed the nations conversation with your story and inspiration.

"In every cancer battle it's always love that wins."

Rachael documented her battle with cancer in her chart topping podcast You, Me And The Big C, changing the way we talk about cancer, and the poets congratulated the broadcaster on her incredible achievements.

They wrote: "Everybody in the world needs to hear your voice and story, the podcast deserves to be at number one in the charts; your legacy will live on and inspire so many others, and you will live on in memories and so many hearts.

"Thank you for being you Rachael. Love and thoughts to you, your husband, your son, your family, your friends, your colleagues and all of your fans."

All On The Board is hoping to keep the tribute to Rachael up for as long as possible.

The poets told PRETTY52: "Rachael Bland was an extraordinary woman and we were so touched by her courage and bravery, we wanted to pay tribute to her with a board.

"We are keeping the Rachael Bland board on display at North Greenwich station for as long as we can."

Rachael previously revealed that she was writing a memoir for her two-year-old son, Freddie, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2016.

The family discovered her cancer was no longer treatable in May this year, and earlier this week, Rachael told her adoring fans she had just days to live.

Deborah James and Lauren Mahon have vowed to continue 5 Live's You, Me and the Big C podcasts.
