Liam Hemsworth has shared a shocking image of what is left of his Malibu mansion, which he shares with fiancée Miley Cyrus, following the California wildfires.

Their house is just one of many destroyed in the fires that ripped through the area last week, but the shocking image of the damage really hits home.

"It's been a heartbreaking few days. This is what's left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires," the actor wrote on his Instagram page.

Liam continued: "I spent the day in Malibu yesterday and it was amazing to see the community pulling together to help each other out in any way they can.

"Malibu is a strong community and this event is only going to make it stronger. Thankful for the all the great local guys that helped keep smaller fires out around my property.

"I love u guys. I love you Malibu. Thank you to all the hero firefighters around California. It's going to be a journey to rebuild. Stay strong all."

Liam went on to share details on how his followers could help and donate to those affected by the wildfires.

Miley and Liam have given $500,000 (£385,000) to the Woolsey fire relief efforts after losing their Malibu home.

"Their community and state are very special to them and they want to give back to the place that has created so many beautiful memories for themselves and others," a spokesperson said on their behalf.

"They are donating $500,000 dollars to The Malibu Foundation through Miley's charity, Happy Hippie in hopes to restore Malibu's magic."

The couple hope the donation will help "those in financial need, emergency relief assistance, community rebuilding, wildfire prevention and climate change resilience".

Over 250,000 people have been evacuated from the area. A number of other A-list celebrities found themselves being forced to leave their California homes, including the Kardashian-Jenners, Lady Gaga and Gerard Butler among many others.

The death toll has risen to 42, and the fires continue to rip through the area.
