Game of Thrones star, one of the hottest guys on the planet and now, it turns out, he's a really great friend too. Jason Momoa revealed on Wednesday just how serious his on-screen wife, Emilia Clarke's, aneurysms were. He was supporting her at the Game of Thrones season eight premiere in New York.

Emilia penned an emotional and powerful essay for The New York Times in March detailing her near-death experience after suffering a brain aneurysm (a bleed on the brain) in 2011 at the age of 24 and the cusp of her GoT rise to fame.

The actress, now 32 and going into season eight of the blockbuster series, suffered another aneurysm in 2013 during an operation to reduce the size of a smaller aneurysm.

The actor spoke to ET and said: "I've kind of been a part of that whole situation for a very long time, so we've had so many scares and trying to find the right way to come out and help.

"I'm very sad, because we almost lost her the first time. So, I love her to bits and she's here and she's going to do great things with it and teach the world. I just think it's beautiful that... she's so brave in helping the world and trying to raise awareness."

To raise further awareness the courageous actress additionally set up a charity called SameYou, which provides treatment for people recovering from brain injuries and strokes. Through the organisation she hopes she can help those unable to access the level of care that she received.

Despite the fact that their on-screen relationship ended in tragedy and in spite of the fact that they live quite literally a world apart, they still manage to meet up for boozy catch ups from time to time and celebrate their friendship on their Instagram feeds.
