The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate, are expecting their third child, according to Kensington Palace.

Apparently the Queen and both of the families are "delighted with the news".

Kensington Palace released a statement that said: "Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.

"The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.

"As with her previous two pregnancies, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

"Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children's Centre in London today.

"The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington palace."

Unfortunately, like with her previous two pregnancies, she's suffering from severe morning sickness (also known as hyperemesis gravidarum).

The unborn child will take over Prince Harry as the fifth in line to the throne after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

After the announcement, members of the public were quick to congratulate the family, with many feeling empathy for Kate suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum again.

One user wrote: "Very brave to go through Hyperemesis for a 3rd time! Congrats!" Another added: "Congratulations! Wonderful news. Hope the Duchess will be doing well soon & not plagued by this illness for too long."

"Oh dear I am so relieved to hear Her Royal Highness, Catherine, will curtail her engagements for foreseeable future and take best care," said another.

One commented asking what exactly the illness was, to which someone else replied: "Lets describe it as violent morning sickness... all day long. Constant feeling of vertigo & nausea."

Poor Kate.

We don't yet know the sex of the baby.

Whether or not they will be a brother or sister of Princess Charlotte and Prince George will most likely be announced in the coming weeks.
