Britain Fuming At Donald Trump For Breaking Royal Protocol And Walking In Front Of The Queen
Donald Trump had a quick visit to Britain over the weekend, but it's no secret that plenty of people weren't too happy to see the US President for reasons that we won't go into.
But as if the public couldn't have been more enraged about his trip, Trump has been criticised for 'breaking royal protocol' and walking in front of the Queen when the two met for the first time on Friday.
As Trump and HRH walked along to inspect her guards, the president stepped in her way, totally blocking her from view as she tried to get around him.
The Queen then returned to his right hand side, and they carried on walking together.
While the moment may have been missed by many, plenty of people did pick up on the Queen's gestures, and naturally, everyone has quite a lot to say about the moment on Twitter.
Trump was also apparently late to meet the Queen, with him and wife Melania Trump choosing to shake hands with Her Majesty, rather than curtsying.
"I'm no royalty expert, but I'm confident cutting the Queen off is frowned upon," fumed one person.
While another tweeted: "I'm not a monarchist by any stretch of the imagination but this is such an insult to Britain. Absolutely clueless, classless, thoughtless, lacking in any dignity and without a shred of respect."
"Remember that time @realDonaldTrump couldn't remember how to walk and then stood in front of the Queen?" added a third.
While a final echoed: "Oh no! How rude & typical Trump - no manners or Class. He was late to see Queen Elizabeth. No bow. She waited & stood for 15 minutes looking at watch 2 times. Who does this to 92 yr old lady? Priceless photo w Trump blocking her. She had to walk around him. Sorry Queen Elizabeth [sic]!"
