This week it feels as though everything we knew and loved is a lie. First of all Kady McDermott and Scott Thomas split AGAIN, which wasn't the biggest shock to be honest. Then Rachel Fenton and Rykard Jenkins announced their split and we really were shook.

But oh my goodness, we were not expecting to hear that this year's Love Island winners, Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies had split after just five months together. WHAT? All those votes wasted...

Anyway, the pair released a joint statement putting it down to their hectic schedule. I mean, we've definitely heard that one before. With Kem in training for Dancing On Ice and Amber releasing her clothing lines, they're bound to be busy.

But now Love Island's own Alex Bowen has waded in on the drama to offer his opinion on why the winning couple split. And let's face it, he's kind of qualified to comment given that he and Olivia Buckland seem to be one of the most solid couples to come from the show.

So what does Alex think? Well, Alex told The Sun: "I think their split is shocking because they won the show and everyone thought they were the best couple, but you don't know what you've got to handle on the outside.

"You don't know how if you'll be living on different sides of the country, you don't know how much work you'll be getting.

"The fact Kem got Dancing On Ice - that will be taking up a lot of his time. They get on but they don't have time for each other."

Olivia also chimed in, adding: "I'm sure he's lovely but it's such a hard thing to make work when you're so busy. He's mega busy, it must be so hard for him - it's just so difficult really."

They do have a point, I imagine winning the show does come with a fair amount of pressure. However, if it's anything like in the villa, they'll be happy families again by next week!
