Pretty much every gal is well rehearsed on the role of being 'wingwoman'. It's something we've all experienced; when your mate fancies the lad at the bar but is too shy to approach him, or when you meet someone at work that would be just perfect for your bestie.

By all means, it's not an easy role but it's certainly a crucial one when it comes to our friendships.

If hooking your mates up is something that you consider a skill if yours then we might have the dream job for you.

Yep, that's right. You can now get payed to be a professional wingwoman, and it turns out it pays pretty well too.

After an online survey found that 12 per cent of people still meet their partner at a bar or in a club, online marketplace Bark.com has launched a 'wingwoman' service where women can earn up to £30 an hour to accompany clients to social gatherings and introduce them to potential dates.

Anyone who fancies themselves as a professional matchmaker must be over the age of 18 so they can accompany clients into bars and clubs as well as being super confident to potential dates to clients.

Obviously, the professional wingwoman must not flirt or try and get dates for themselves while out with clients and they must be able to demonstrate wooing tactics for the client.

Kai Feller, co-founder of Bark.com, said,"We've received hundreds of requests this year looking for dating professionals on the platform. The main reason we've seen is that online dating isn't working for them and/or their friends are all coupled up and can't help them anymore.

"The main point of Bark.com is for members of the public to be able to find local services that they need in an easy way. If our users want a new service added, we'll strive to find a way to do this and I'm happy we're launching this new service to accommodate their needs."
