Woman Urges Mums To 'Try A Little' With Their Looks While Doing The School Run

A mum has taken to Facebook to urge other mums to 'try a little' with their appearance while they are doing the morning school drop off.

Any school run is like a military operation, and let's be honest nobody enjoys it.

First there are the multiple attempts to raise the little darlings from their beds, then it's the constant checking on them to make sure they're showered and dressed, and don't even mention the breakfast battle.

For most parents the main priorities are: Are the kids dressed? Yes. Are the kids wearing matching shoes? Yes.

Do we have their PE kit, reading folder, lunch box and that annoying cardboard box which has been (kind of) transformed into a rocket for their latest project? Yes.

One thing that definitely isn't on a parent's checklist is whether they themselves look like they've spent hours glamming.

Mornings are hard and having to get up even earlier to get yourself sorted before the kids wake up isn't always a priority.

So why do some people expect you to show up to the playground looking like you've just stepped off the London Fashion Week runway?

One mum took to Facebook to shame other parents who don't meet her high standards of appearances while on the school run.

She urged parents to 'try a little' with how they look and asked what their husbands must think (as if that even matters).

The mum wrote: "I know this is stirring up some haters so whatever. Sorry if this hits close to home. Ladies, even if you aren't getting out of the car at drop off can you try a little.

"I look around as I'm walking my daughter to the front door and all we see is rat nest hair, no makeup, eyebags out to wherever and I'm not [100 emoji] but I think I smell morning breath coming from these cars. Damn."

The mum then goes on to share a comment her young daughter apparently made.

She continued: "My daughter said to me, 'mommy you are so pretty. My friends mommies all look so old. I'm so proud of you and that you are my mommy'.

"On the real, if my seven-year-old daughter can see you aren't even trying what is your husband thinking? Take some pride."

Parents were understandably not very grateful for the 'advice' the mum gave, and made it very clear how they felt after the post was shared to the Sanctimommy Facebook page.

One user wrote: "My husband's thinking 'thank God I don't have to get out of bed to drop these f*cking kids off' but thanks for your concern.

"And like, just for the record, my husband also isn't putting concealer on for the drop off line, but I don't judge him it's called marriage and it's about loving the face your spouse was born with."

Another added: "I drove my kid to the bus stop in a sloth onesie with nothing underneath several days in a row."
