An adorable four-year-old suffering with cancer has captured hearts with her unstoppable optimism and spirit.

The parents of Audrina Hatton-Wright, who comes from Derby and is suffering with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, have released a video showing her ringing the hospital "cancer bell" to mark the end of her radiotherapy sessions.

Audrina's mum, Gemma Gould, aged 28, explained that Audrina wanted to mark the end of her radiotherapy sessions "in her own special way" And that she did, dressed as a stormtrooper in honour of her favourite film, Star Wars .

Audrina hasn't let the cancer dent her bubbly, sweet spirit and the video shows her ringing the bell at Nottingham Radiotherapy Centre after eight entire months of treatment. The video also shows hospital staff waving lightsabers and cheering Audrina on, fully involved in the excitement.

Audrina has been through 14 rounds of treatment after being diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma. Gemma says that the costume was "all Audrina's idea" and "she's seen all the movies and has all the Star Wars Build-A-Bears." Gemma added that she is "incredibly proud" of her brave daughter.

High risk neuroblastoma is a rare childhood cancer with one of the lowest survival rates. Audrina was diagnosed with the cancer in July 2018. Since then she has had to spend her birthday in hospital, endure four operations, and go through five rounds of chemo along with the radiotherapy.

Her mum added, "she's been brilliant, she's always full of beans. It's been a long haul but she's kept us both going." However, despite ringing the "cancer bell", Audrina still needs more help. Apparently the risk of a relapse is more than 50 per cent with neuroblastoma, and if she does relapse, there is only a 1 in 10 chance of survival

Audrina's family are now trying to raise £200,000 for specialist treatment in the US to prevent a relapse: "we want to take her to New York and get the the vaccine, it will give her a much better chance of staying cured of the disease," said Gemma. You can donate to the fundraiser here.

But for now, Audrina is in the clear - and we can all learn something from this little girl's incredible spirit.
