There Is A Way To Predict If It Will Rain On Your Wedding Day

Monsoon has created a wedding weather calculator, which uses 86 years worth of statistics, to figure out if it is likely to rain on your big day.

All brides dream of a perfect wedding, and most of the time they want the sun to be out so they can get the best outdoor snaps. But with the British weather, it is hard to predict when the weather will be on your side.

To make planning a little easier, Monsoon's weather calculator looks at Met Office rainfall data to see which days have been historically dry and which ones have been a wash out.

All you have to do is put in your date and location and it will let you know whether the weather will be on your side.

So although it isn't definite, it should give brides-to-be a pretty good idea.

Monsoon claims that April showers are a myth, and that the month is actually the driest, with an average daily rainfall of 2.29mm - 15th April tops the chart as the driest day of the year for the UK.

However, if you are dreaming of an Autumn wedding, make sure you avoid November if you don't want a wash out, as it has an average daily rainfall of 3.84mm - 11th November is the wettest day of the year.

Speaking to Monsoon, wedding photographer Fiona Kelly gave her top tips for what to do if you aren't so lucky with the weather on your big day.

She said: "Be prepared for it! Embrace the rain rather than worry about it. Buy some special umbrellas that can be used in photos- letting light in whilst most importantly keeping you dry.

"If you're marrying somewhere that might get muddy, buy a pair of wedding wellies! They are a lot of fun for photos and make a great memento of the wedding day."
