Study Claims Attending Concerts Makes You Live Longer
If you need an excuse to treat yourself to tickets to see your favourite music artist, then you might be happy to hear that attending a concert can actually make you live longer.
No you're not dreaming, as a study claims to have found evidence that going to a gig once every two weeks can actually extend your life. Impressive stuff, right?
According to this study, there is a 'positive correlation between regularity of gig attendance and well-being'.
Researchers also say that 'additional scholarly research directly links high levels of well being with a lifespan increase of nine years'.
The study, which was conducted by O2 and behavioral science expert Patrick Fagan, found that regularly attending a concert can increase your lifespan by around nine years.
*Books concert tickets immediately*
The reasoning behind the results of the study is all pretty simple - doing something that you love stimulates your mind, increases your feelings of self-worth and closeness, meaning it contributes to your overall well-being.
If that's not a good enough reason to book yourself onto the guest list for a festival last minute or pick up some tickets for that gig you have been dying to go to then we don't know what is.
