Four little girls who all survived cancer have met up for a reunion in the hospital where they all became friends while going through the horrible illness.

McKinley, Chloe, Ava and Lauren became close friends at the John Hopkins All Children's Hospital in Florida in 2016 and have returned two years later to celebrate their remission during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Chloe had lung cancer while McKinley, Ava and Lauren all had leukemia however two years later, the four and five-year-olds look like any other happy, care-free children.

The adorable girls posed proudly in t-shirts that read 'SURVIVOR' along with gold tutus and headbands in celebration of what each of them have overcome.

They first met during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September 2016, when the doctors gave them all pink tutus to wear to cheer them up during their grueling treatment.

Someone took a picture of the girls giggling together and a year later they returned to celebrate their remission and remake the photograph, and now they have returned once again.

The doctors and the children's hospital said all the girls have flourished since their treatment and regained their strength.

Chloe is a huge fan of fishing, while Ava can't get enough of Disney. Lauren loves animals and McKinley is a girly girl who just loves princesses.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ava's mum, Alyssa, said: "Once your child has cancer, it's hard to imagine a 'normal' life again. It's even more special when it's her sweet friends that she grew close with while they were all so very sick.

"Most people dream of different days for their children like the first day of school or weddings. These are the days we've dreamed of."

The pictures of the girls laughing and dancing and joking perfectly embodies that being happy and healthy is something we should never take for granted.
