We're all prone to a little overreaction from time-to-time, whether that's welling up at breaking a nail, getting a little too angry at your colleague's annoying chewing noises, or being overly giddy when your favourite song come on in the club.

But one woman seemed to take the overreacting crown when she reportedly pulled a gun out at a man during an argument... over karaoke.

Doris Vallejo-Godoy, 41, was in a Mexican restaurant in Texas, when an argument broke out with a man when the pair couldn't agree on who was next in line to sing at the restaurant, according to WOAI-TV.

The woman, who said the man called her "bad names," was later arrested by police, and admitted to pulling out the gun but said it was "to calm him," Newsweek report.

However, the man disputes Vallejo-Godoy's account and sad that she hit him and then proceeded to point the gun at him during the argument.

Police reports state that a waitress tried to restrain the woman, but ended up having the gun pointed at her too.

Vallejo-Godoy's partner, who she was with at the time, paid for their food and left, but the Fort Worth Star-Telegram report the couple continued shouting outside the restaurant and when the police arrived, Vallejo-Godoy didn't drop her weapon as requested.

Instead she place it "in her waistband at the small of her back."

The woman was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon, with bail set at $60,000 (£47,000).

Now we love karaoke as much as the next person, but we think threatening someone with a gun is perhaps a step too far in this case...
