Some pets can sit through thunderstorms as if absolutely nothing is wrong. For others, it can be the most terrifying thing they'll experience in their lives.
With thunderstorm warnings being issued this week, and 57 per cent of UK dogs becoming stressed when they hear loud bangs, Pets At Home has launched a range of 'thundershirts' for pets, which are specially designed to help reduce stress in animals during bad weather.
The wearable jacket is designed to act like a 'constant hug' for your dogs and cats alike by applying a gentle pressure all over the body, working to relax them.

The thundershirts range from sizes XS to XL and are £30 for dogs and £35 for cats - but do they work?
An RSPCA spokesperson told Pretty52 that thundershirts can help treat the symptoms of anxiety, although it's also worth trying to get to the bottom of the problem.
"Pet owners might decide to use thundershirts to help treat complex behaviour problems, such as noise phobias and separation related behaviours," the spokesperson said - but added that "they would only be treating the symptoms and not the underlying cause of the behaviour."

The RSPCA added: "It is possible for dogs to learn to be less afraid of loud noises like thunder and fireworks" recommending Sound Scary, a therapy pack which introduces scary noises to pets gradually.
"There are also some simple things that you can do at home to help them cope, including providing suitable hiding places for your cat or dog so they can feel safe," they added.
"You could play music or put the television on to muffle the sound of fireworks or thunder and you could also talk to your vet about using pheromone diffusers."
As part of their range, Pets At Home have also launched a Pet Remedy Mini Calming Spray for £6.50, Comforting Pheromone Spray for £23.20, Zylkene Chews for £10 and a Calming Diffuser for £25.
