One thing we can all agree on is that the only thing cuter than a pooch is one in fancy dress.
So naturally, we were thrilled to discover that one woman has dedicated her time to creating adorable ensembles for abandoned dogs. Could there be a better job?!
Former Dior fashion designer Lola Teigland, 55, left her day job to deck out Los Angeles based doggos in the fanciest couture - but there was a much more serious motive behind the career move.
Lola made the move to encourage more people to adopt the unlucky pups by trying to humanise them, and it gained so much traction that she now also helps dress dogs in Pennsylvania, and has plans to work across New York and Atlanta, too.

She's rehomed hundreds of dogs so dar, and got a doggy fashion empire under her wing, hosting regular events in which she showcases her canine collections on dogs living in shelters.
The quirky career move was prompted after Lola adopted her two Chihuahuas, Woofie and Bear, in 2011, and became keen to highlight the importance of the 'Adopt Don't Shop' message.
Reflecting on her decision, Lola said: "I couldn't be happier having swapped from human fashion to helping dogs.
"My initial template was to do for dogs what PETA did for the anti-fur campaign, using fashion and entertainment to save dogs.

"I began by going to shelters and posing the dogs in cute t-shirts and hoodies, bringing charm to their adoption photos. This re-homed over 180 dogs.
"Next I created shows for pet charity events. I designed a collection of high fashion pet couture using all the principles and processes I had used when designing for humans.
"To make the shows even better, I added human designs to match the pups. Because I don't sell the human outfits, I had the freedom to take it in a whimsically entertaining direction.
"I use social media to get the community involved and to spread the word about the beauty and power of dogs.

"For me dressing dogs isn't about the clothes, it's about fashion's power to influence and rally change."
Some of Lola's dog outfits include a bright yellow beret and suit combo and even a doggy tuxedo.
Plus, she's even designed embellished glasses so that the abandoned dogs can accessorise their looks. Have you ever seen anything more cute?
While Lola has top experience working for designers Christian Dior and Albert Nipon, she claims the doggy designing was an exciting new challenge for her.

Explaining her thought process behind the her dog clothing, she said: "Some designers mimic baby clothes. I like to dress dogs like fashionable adult humans. It gives people a chance to own something beautiful and share it with their friends on Instagram.
"When people see a darling dressed dog in an outfit, they themselves might like to wear, they see that animal as a sentient being, not as disposable property.
"That changes mind and keeps senior dogs out of the shelter and in the family where they belong." What an amazing idea.
