While holidays are the best part of the year, it's always painful having to dip into that precious annual leave allowance to be able to take them. That's why we're loving this amazing holiday hack, which lets you take 10 whole days off while only using four of your annual leave days.

Here's how to do it, beach-craving folks: book off the four days before Good Friday, which takes place on 19th April. If you book off the 15th to the 18th April, your long, leisurely holiday will actually start on Saturday, 13th April - and you won't even have to go back to work until Tuesday, 23rd April, meaning you'll get a deliciously long 10 days off work.

However, if 10 days just won't cut it for the long holiday you're dreaming of, there's also a way you can get 18 consecutive days off using just nine days of annual leave. That's basically an extra day for every day you take off.

The way you need to do that is to book all nine days in between Easter Monday and May Day to maximise the bank holidays. If you take off from the 23rd April until the 3rd May, you'll also sneakily get the 19th to the 22nd April, and the 4th to the 6th May. You're welcome.

If you can't make a holiday in April as it's just too last minute, we've also got you covered for later in the year. You can take a nine-day holiday in May by booking only four days off, from the 4th to the 12th May.

Ditto in August, where you can make the most of the bank holiday by booking just four days off but getting a whole nine days away from the office between 24th August and 1st September.

And then - if you can bear to wait till Christmas - you can take a whopping 16 days out of the office by booking just seven days off, between 21st December and 5th January.

We can hardly wait. Now, to make sure we get hold of the office holiday diary first...
