It seems as though everything is a-go-go for the new Willy Wonka prequel, and it is even being reported that film bosses are in talks with Paddington 2 director, Paul King, to take change of the project.

If he agrees, Paul will work alongside Harry Potter producer, David Heyman, to make the idea into a reality.

At this stage we're not entirely sure where the storyline will go, however we do know that it will be based around Willy Wonka's life, before he met Charlie Bucket.

The young Willy Wonka is yet to be cast, although we do know that it won't be Johnny Depp. Several rumours that's Ryan Gosling could be cast as the young confectionary mogul have been circulating, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Although we do already know that Ryan loves a sing and a dance, so if the filmmakers do decide to go down the musical route, he could be perfect for the role.

Unfortunately, there's no time scale yet on when we can expect to see the film, however we're sure to hear more when Paul's recruitment is officially confirmed.
