The Voice UK might be the new kid on the block when it comes to sing televised singing competitions, however it has quickly carved it's way into being one of the most popular programmes on tele. After all, it began with an exciting new format that turned the idea of being a 'pop star' on it's head, like the name suggests, focusing just on the singers voice, unlike other rival shows like *cough* The X Factor *cough*.

The also boasts some pretty famous judges, and the it was even so successful that the began running a simultaneous show, but for children instead.

The one thing that the show has been criticised for, is not producing superstar winners, like it's rivals. The Voice UK is now in it's seventh series and has since moved over from BBC to ITV, however it is yet to produce a chart-topping winner, so where are all of it's winners now?

Leanne Mitchell won the series back in 2012 after being mentored by the longest running judge, Sir Tom Jones, however her career didn't get off to the most glittering start. Leanne's debut single was a cover of Whitney Houston's Run To You, however the song failed to get into the UK top 40, charting at just number 45. Leanne was subsequently by her record label when her album flopped, only charting at number 135. Oh dear.

In 2013 Andrea Begley was crowned the winner after being mentored by The Script's Danny O'Donoghue. Thankfully, Andrea's debut single, which was a cover of Evanescence's My Immortal, did slightly better, charting in at number 30, however her follow up track only reached 113. Her album didn't do too badly though, peaking at number seven in the charts.

BBC/The Voice

Jermain Jackman took the top spot in 2014 and although his career looked promising, his debut single, And I Am Telling You by Dreamgirls, came in at just 75. Jermain now has slightly different ambition to become Prime Minister and is currently studying a politics degree at the University Of Leeds.

BBC/The Voice

In 2015, Scottish star Stevie McCrorie came in first place, and he did pretty well after his victory, with his single, a cover of Adam Levine's Lost Stars, charting at number six, however his album only managed to come in at 35 and he has since returned to working as a firefighter.

BBC/The Voice

Kevin Simm won the show in 2016 and despite previous success as part of Liberty X, he just couldn't make his solo career work. His debut single managed to climb to 24 in the singles chart however his album did not chart at all.

BBC/The Voice

Last year, The Voice UK boldly moved over to ITV from it's BBC roots, and many people thought that this might be the boost that the show needs to produce a real superstar, however when Mo Adeniran won the show, his debut EP only managed to reach 75, and he is yet to release an album.

ITV/The Voice

Oh dear. Maybe 2018 is The Voice's year?
