What Everyone Who Appeared In Netflix's 'Fyre' Documentary Is Saying Now

A number of those who appeared in the documentary have given their take on Netflix's latest release.

Netflix's documentary on the ill-fated Fyre festival gave the world an insight into the collapse of the luxury Bahamas event as it aired this weekend.

The documentary showed both the rise and fall of the 2017 festival which promised a weekend of partying with A-listers and top influencers, but in reality it couldn't even provide basic necessities.

But what are the people, including the creators, saying now that Netflix has dropped Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened?

Ja Rule - the festival's co-creator:

Rapper and co-creator of Fyre Ja Rule has denounced the streaming platform's documentary (and Hulu's) in a string of fiery Twitter posts. While he appeared in the show through the promotional material, he was never interviewed for either.

"I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers," Ja Rule wrote on Twitter, going on to point out that the streaming giant paid its sources.

"Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should have went to the ppl in the Bahamas," he wrote on Twitter. "Netflix PAID f*ck Jerry who also did the promo for the festival. the docs clearly have Billy at fault but let's blame the rapper lmao ok [sic]."

Ja has denied he was involved in defrauding party-goers as well as the locals, and instead said that he had also been scammed.

He posted: "I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!!"

In another tweet, the rapper added: "Come on your smarter than that... I feel bad for those ppl... but I did not and would never scam ANYONE... period!!! And I don't care if anyone sympathizes with me or not those are the FACTS!!!"

And of Maryann Rolle, the Bahamian woman completely screwed over by the event, Ja tweeted: "My heart goes out to this lovely lady... MaryAnne Rolle we've never met but I'm devastated that something that was meant to be amazing, turn out to be such a disaster and hurt so many ppl... SORRY to anyone who has been negatively effected by the festival... Rule."

Billy McFarland: Fyre's creator:

Netflix

Billy McFarland, who was the founder of Fyre, is currently serving a six year-long prison sentence, although it's important to note that Ja was never arrested or charged in connection with the fraud.

Billy was ordered to forfeit US $26 million for wire fraud and his role in the Fyre festival debacle.

He didn't appear in Netflix's documentary as producers refused to pay him as they didn't want him to benefit financially from it.

Kendall Jenner - paid to promote the luxury festival:

Kendall Jenner promoted the festival to her Instagram followers, reportedly earning herself a hefty paycheck for a now-deleted post.

However, there have been multiple calls for the model plus others to reimburse the locals who were never paid for their work since the documentary aired.

Since Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened aired, Kendall hasn't spoken publicly about it.

Bella Hadid - paid to promote the luxury festival:

Netflix

The Victoria's Secret model was supposedly paid to promote the festival, and appeared in the trailer for Netflix's documentary in former promotional material. She hasn't acknowledged the recent one episode-long documentary, although she did apologise shortly after the festival to her followers.

At the time, she erased the post promoting the festival, and shared an apology which read: "Even though this was not my project what so ever, nor was I informed about the production or process of the festival in any shape or form, I do know that it has always been out of great intent and they truly wanted all of us to have the time of our lives.

"I initially trusted this would be an amazing & memorable experience for all of us, which is why I agreed to do one promotion...not knowing about the disaster that was to come...I feel so sorry and badly because this is something I couldn't stand by, although of course if I would have known about the outcome, you would have all known too."

Emily Ratajkowski - paid to promote the luxury festival:

Instagram

You're probably noticing a pattern here, but model and influencer Emily Ratajkowski was also paid to promote the festival, but scrubbed all mention it from her social media in the wake of its demise.

Like Kendall and Bella, there's also been calls for her to donate the fee she most-likely received for the festival.

The FYRE company team - worked on the event:

Netflix

Former festival worker Andy King made one of the most shocking revelations of the documentary after he recalled how he almost gave oral sex in order to solve the water problems at the festival.

Since the startling confession, Andy has set up his own Twitter account, where he links to the GoFundMe page to donate to those who were never paid.

A Twitter account claiming to be run by Oren Aks, one of the designers who worked on Fyre, has shared a number of links to the fundraising pages so people can donate too.
