Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be leaving the This Morning studio with their pockets feeling a little lighter, after they called the wrong viewer to let them know they had won a competition on the ITV show.

Well, that's a slip up to say the least...

Alison Hammond was with the Cash Cow walking up real winner Mrs Ashman's drive, to surprise her with £5,000. Nice Crimbo present, if you ask me.

Phil and Holly were left with the responsibility of calling the lucky lady to let her know the happy news that she was going to be having a huge addition to her bank account this Christmas.

However, they ended up on the line with a lady called Eva Smithers instead, and chaos quickly ensued.

The two presenters tried to salvage the situation, after Schofey hung up the phone. They got back in contact with Eva, offering her a prize of £1,000 simply because they had called up the wrong person.

Why couldn't this happen to me?!

Obviously the gesture sent This Morning viewers into a frenzy, and they took to Twitter to blast the show for not giving her the same amount as the Mrs Ashman.

One fan posted: "That poor woman they rang by mistake! Then she got £1000 instead of £5000! I'm sure they could afford to give her the full prize amount! ."

A second exclaimed: "They should give both ladies £5000 ."

" aw you should pay that other woman £5000 too now ," advised a third.

Others did find the whole thing hilarious though, with one fan writing: "Lmao This Morning went to give £5000 to someone at their door and they called the wrong person I'm screaming."

A second added: "TV gold on right now! Holly and Phil just phoned the wrong person telling them to look outside their house because they've won £5000."
