Channel 4's new series Mums Make Porn has made for fascinating watching over the past few weeks, but viewers were left cringing at last night's episode.

The three-part series centres around a group of five mums who, shocked by hardcore porn online, and its impact on their kids' generation, make their own porn movie aiming to promote positive attitudes to sex.

The mums in the show have done their research when it comes to making an ethical and realistic adult movie, visiting porn sets, writing scripts, getting work experience in the industry and eventually casting and shooting their own film - although finding a location and cast was harder than they first thought.

Last night's episode was the first chance for the mums and their family, friends and industry experts to view their finished product at a private screening in Soho. Their mentor, Erika Lust, even promised to help them launch their film online if she thought it was good enough.

These family and friends included the mothers' own children sitting in the audience and rating their mums' finished product.

The children generally seemed to take well to the screening, although one, Olivia, said: "It's a bit weird being at a screening of a porn film that your mum has made."

Viewers took to Twitter to express their horror at the idea of a family outing to watch porn. One wrote: "So, they are all sitting in a cinema, with their children etc, watching porn together? What the f*** is this?"

Another complained that the sex depicted on the show was "vanilla" while another warned people not to watch it, saying they would lose their "lunch and libido". Others put themselves in the shoes of the mums' kids, saying: "Never mind what your kids are watching online... imagine knowing ur fucking mum has done this".

We personally thought the premise of the show and all the episodes made for fascinating watching, although we're also secretly hoping our mums don't apply for next season.
