Viewers of I'm A Celebrity are convinced that Hollyoaks star Malique Thompson-Dwyer had smuggled a phone into the jungle after they claimed they spotted him pulling the device out of his pocket.

If it was a real phone he clearly didn't put it to good use to vote, as the soap star was the latest celebrity to leave the jungle last night.

During Saturday night's show eagle-eyed viewers claimed that they spotted the actor pull what looked like a phone from his pocket.

All we can say is that if it was a phone we want to know which one, because the battery life must be amazing.

People claim they saw him looking down at the item as if he was looking at a screen before putting it back in his pocket.

A source from the show explained that Malique pulled a cigarette packet from his pocket. (

Fans took to Twitter to demand answers from ITV.

One user wrote: "'#ImACeleb #Maliquegate Hey guys did Malique really just pull a mobile phone out of his pocket? Disqualification if this is the case?"

Another viewer added: "Thought you weren't allowed mobile phones in the jungle, Malique? #phonegate."

A third fan said: "We were told celebs had no link to the outside world in the jungle yet it looks like Malique pulled out a mobile phone from his pants pocket."

Some viewers did find a flaw in the phone theory as they questioned where he would be charging it, as there's no way it would have lasted two weeks.

They added: "So if Malique did have a phone, how did he manage to charge it up after being in the jungle for 2 weeks? No way can you have an iPhone last two weeks even if he did sneak it in [sic]."

However, a source from the show dismissed the claims and said: "Malique doesn't have a phone it's clearly a cigarette packet".

Despite the source explaining it was in fact a cigarette packet, the alleged phone sighting came just after Malique explained how much he was missing his phone while in the jungle.

Unfortunately, Malique became the second campmate to leave the jungle last night after Noel Edmonds was voted out on Friday night.
