Phillip Schofield Furious After This Morning Guest Suggests Children Dating Could Lead To Sex

Phillip Schofield lost his temper on This Morning when a guest suggested children shouldn't date as it could lead to sex.

In the heated debate which asked whether primary school children too young to be dating, Nilufer Atik said that the only reason adults date is for sex, and therefore it's a worrying sign for children to start doing the same.

However, Phil wasn't too happy with her argument, accusing her stealing children's innocence by implying their cute dates would lead to sex.

The debate came after a 10-year-old boy from Edinburgh was kicked out of Nando's during a date, after management said they were too young to be in the restaurant without an adult.

"Why would a 10-year-old want to date? Why do we date? We date because we're either attracted to someone of the same sex or the opposite sex," she said.

"So we date to forge a romantic relationship with that person or to have sex.

"Why do adults date, they date for one of those two reasons, to take it further than a friendship or to have sexual intercourse."

Still disagreeing, Phil added: "When I was about eight, there was someone at school I quite liked... my folks set up a little table in the sitting room and she came round and my mum came in and we talked about school.

"There was nothing else except that I quite liked her - nothing entered my mind."

However, Nilufer said things have changed since then, suggesting children these days are more likely to take it further because they access to pornography and online 'material'.

"There were just as many dodgy folk as there are now," Phil shot back.

"The fact they went for a date in Nando's doesn't mean they're sexually active online looking at porn!"

This Morning airs on ITV on weekday mornings at 10.30am.
