The trailer for Isn't It Romantic starring Rebel Wilson, Priyanka Chopra and Liam Hemsworth is here, and it will have you in fits of giggles.

This movie flips the rom-com genre on its head as we know it, sending Rebel's character - Natalie - into some kind of romantic comedy alternate universe.

Isn't It Romantic is perfect even if you hate the genre, as it pokes fun at nauseous 'love conquers all' messages and romantic clichés.

Natalie, is a cynical architect in NYC who really hates romantic comedies, but ends up in one when she smacks her head, while trying to get away from a mugger.

New York City is transformed into a rainbow of colourful houses and cutesy shop fronts, with happy people bouncing and skipping down the streets.

"I hit my head really hard, now I woke up in an alternate universe," Natalie declares in the two-minute long trailer released by Warner Bros. earlier this week.

Rebel complains on the phone to a police officer that her dingy apartment has become a luxury penthouse with a walk-in wardrobe, despite her probably not being able to afford it.

She also wakes up from a night of passion with her lipgloss fully intact and hair perfectly curled.

Of course, she's also got a top job in a gorgeous office, because that's always the case in rom-coms, right?

"My life's a motherf*cking romantic comedy," Natalie yells as she realises she's no longer dreaming, later adding: "And it's PG-13!"

Liam is Blake - the 'hunky object of Wilson's affections' covered only by a towel - and Priyanka has been cast as yoga ambassador, Isabella.

Rebel's Pitch Perfect co-star Adam DeVine will be playing Josh, her character's work BFF.

The actress recently told Ellen DeGeneres: "[The film is] about a girl who hates romantic comedies, which I did in real life because I didn't feel like they were real, and then I get flung into a world of romantic comedies and I have two love interests in the film, because why not?"

It wouldn't be a romantic comedy without a Valentine's Day release, and this one comes out in 2019.
