The Makers Of 'Love Island' Are Working On A New Dating Show

'Singletown' will be on every day except Saturday, just like 'Love Island'.

If Love Island is anything to go by, ITV knows dating shows.

The channel has clearly worked out there's an appetite for watching young singles navigate the highs and lows of finding love - which is why ITV is working on a new show.

Yep, the brains behind the hit dating show are working on Singletown, which is sure to fill the void that Love Island will leave.

ITV

Singletown will follow struggling couples who go on a 'break' in order to test their relationship.

"Each couple will have a different reason for putting their relationships on ice - from school sweethearts who've never dated other people properly, newer relationships that have hit the rocks, or maybe two people who just want a summer of self-discovery before they settle down," the show notes read.

But instead of being trapped in a luxury villa in Mallorca, these temporary singles will be housed in swanky apartments in the capital during the summer, going on handpicked dates and experiencing everything the city has to offer.

At the end, the couples will decide if they want to stay together, or part ways for good.

Ouch.

"Hot on the heels of Love Island, we're thrilled to be partnering with Keshet on this unique series," said Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels at ITV.

He added: "Singletown is a fun relationship show featuring a diverse mix of young couples from all over the UK brought together in the most aspirational urban setting - London in the summer. ITV2's young audience will hopefully be hooked on the dating dilemmas, twists and turns and the fresh and re-kindled romances that emerge from this exciting new format."

David Williams of Keshet Productions said: "Singletown has a unique starting point - it begins with an end - and I can't wait to watch these freshly minted singles have an unforgettable summer in the city."

The show will air on ITV2 and will be on every night except Saturday, just like Love Island.

Honestly, we don't even know when it's airing (ITV says some time "later this year") but we're already mentally blocking out our evening plans.
