Viewers were left amused by the Islanders' reaction to Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea being crowned the winners of Love Island 2019 during last night's final.

The Irish rugby player and Newcastle native found themselves in the final two alongside Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury for the £50,000 prize.

And when host Caroline Flack announced that Amber and Greg were the winners after knowing each other for less than two weeks, Maura couldn't hide her hilarious reaction as she looked towards Ovie Soko utterly stunned.

While Maura created another meme-able expression, Ovie, who was briefly coupled up with Amber, couldn't hide his delight for the pair as he joyously clapped for them like the supportive friend he is.

The moment was clapped on by runners-up Tommy and Molly-Mae, who have been together for 54 days, although were accused of feigning delight for the couple by viewers.

The scenes didn't go unnoticed by show watchers at home who flocked to Twitter to share their amusement over Maura's "savage" facial expression alongside the others' shocked reactions.

One viewer penned: "Maura's face when Greg n Amber announced the winners 'f*ck me' #priceless #LoveIsland."

"Did anyone else notice how maura was fuming when greg and amber won aha #LoveIsland," a second wrote.

A third shared: "Really don't know what to make of Maura's face, she looks genuinely shocked".

While another commented on Ovie's delight and wrote: "ovie's reaction to amber winning is so cute".

"Look at Maura's reaction and then look at Ovie's reaction.... am dead," a fan said.

And it wasn't only the Islanders in villa that shared memorable reactions but also Amber's ex Michael Griffiths, 27, who said he "did not expect" the Geordie and Limerick native to win.

Fans will remember that the fireman left Amber humiliated when he ditched her for Joanna Chimonides and then tried to win her back, despite his "gaslighting" behaviour.

Taking to his Instagram, he said: "Oh sh*t, oh sh*t, I did not expect that." Continuing his shocked reaction, he gasped: "Wow."

And while Michael may seem shocked by the outcome, viewers at home were not as they shared their joy over the two nabbing the winning title.

A fan wrote: "Im so proud of them both they truly deserve to be winners well done greg and amber."

While another echoed many viewers' sentiments: "happy that Greg and amber won #loveisland the journey amber and went through was brutal and then Greg walked and made her the happiest ever been in the villa scremed WINNERS!!! to me."

It's been one long hot summer and in the words of the Islanders, "it is what it is".
