The Full Official Trailer For The 'Lion King' Remake Is Here

The Full Official Trailer For The 'Lion King' Remake Is Here

Finally, the official, full-length trailer for the forthcoming The Lion King live-action remake is here, and the animations are something else.

The two minute-long preview at the Disney reboot sees evil lion Scar (voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor) make his return and he's terrifying.

"Life's not fair, is it my little friend?" the character says, kicking off the trailer with a line he uttered in the original Disney movie. "While some are born to feast, others spend their lives in the dark."

Others lending their voice to the movie include Beyoncé as Nala, John Oliver as Zazu, Donald Glover as Simba, John Khani as Rafiki, Alfre Woodward as Sarabi, with all the characters making an appearance in the new preview.

"Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance," he tells Simba as they look out over the animal kingdom, "While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give."

Directed by Jon Favreau (of Jungle Book fame), the trailer drop coincides with 100 days until the remake hits cinemas on 19th July, meaning the countdown for the flick is officially on.

And if you need a refresher on the beloved tale, here's the new synopsis: "Director Jon Favreau's all-new The Lion King journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival.

"Scar, Mufasa's brother-and former heir to the throne-has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile.

"With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his."

The Lion King hits UK cinemas on 19th July 2019.
