Stacey Dooley reportedly lost her Strictly Come Dancing glitterball trophy at the wrap party after celebrating being crowned the winner of the dancing competition.

Along with dance partner Kevin Clifton, Stacey lifted the famous glitterball last weekend after Kevin had previously lost in four finals.

The real glitterball was taken away from the winners minutes after the show ended and was replaced with miniature versions for the contestants.

Swapping the trophy was definitely the best idea as during the celebrations after the show Stacey misplaced her mini glitterball.

Fellow Strictly star Dr Ranj Singh told The Telegraph's Talking Strictly podcast: "Here's a little secret - so after the after party, I may have snuck a picture with Stacey's trophy.

"Then there was a message on the WhatsApp group yesterday saying 'Has anyone seen my trophy? I left it in the room with all the bags and now I can't find it.'"

Dr Ranj then asked Stacey if she had left it in the taxi on her way home but Stacey claims it wasn't left there.

He continued: "I was like 'How many drinks did I have?'"

Appearing on This Morning the Monday after she won, Stacey revealed: "I left at 5am and I don't even booze. I was showing off on the stage with my trophy."

If Stacey gets her own way fellow documentary-maker Louis Theroux could be lifting the trophy next year.

Hopefully the glitterball will be found. (

The current Strictly champion is campaigning for Louis to take part in next year's show and has launched a social media movement.

After Stacey's win Louis tweeted his fellow documentary maker. He wrote: "Congrats, @StaceyDooley! Me next! (JK)"

Although he might have been joking, Stacey isn't letting it go as she replied: "Louis. You waltzing in a sequin shirt, would shut down the internet and send the entire UK into complete euphoria. 2019, GIVE US ALL WHAT WE DESERVE".
