Earlier this year, every Pretty Little Liars fan's dreams came true, after it was revealed that a spin-off pilot had been ordered.

Based on writer Sara Shepard's book, the The Perfectionists follows the journey of five high school students, who form a friendship over their mutual dislike of a school bully.

Freeform's description of the series reads: "Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be."

It continues: "The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town's first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi."

Sounds pretty good, right?

And now, thanks to TV Line, we have several descriptions of characters we can expect to see in the show.

First there's Caitlin Martell-Lewis, who TV Line describes as "intelligent, motivated and easy-on-the-eyes daughter of two over-achieving mothers, one of whom is a United States senator, Caitlin is an expert at hiding secrets."

Next up is committed couple Dylan and Andrew, who reportedly have the potential to become fan favourites.

We can also expect to see more of stylish Ava Jalali, Nolan Hotchkiss, and Brit Jeremy Beckett.

Karey Burke, Freeform's executive vice president for programming and development, said: "Pretty Little Liars was a cultural phenomenon so it's no wonder fans wanted more.

"We can't wait to continue Marlene King's rich and revolutionary storytelling with a new crop of leading ladies from Beacon Heights who will hold just as many secrets and lies as Rosewood did."

She added: "I can't wait to introduce our fans - and Sasha and Janel - to a new world of thrills and chills in Beacon Heights."
