Last December, Rylan Clark-Neal made the sad announcement that he would be leaving his role of showbiz reporter on This Morning.

Luckily, though, that wasn't to be the last we saw of him on the show, as earlier today he returned for a moving segment, and what happened moved viewers across the nation to tears...

Appearing on the show, the CBBBOTS presenter made 89-year-old Muriel Dindol burst into tears, after making her dying wish come true by sending her on the journey of a lifetime.

The Grandmother, who does not have long left to live due to a battle with acute kidney failure, seemed thrilled to ribbons with the gesture made by the programme.

And it wasn't just Muriel who was moved by the experience, as This Morning viewers also took to Twitter to express their emotions.

Writing on the social media platform, one fan confessed: "I may or may not have cried at the dreams come true section on today's #ThisMorning . It was so lovely and I'm such a soppy cow."

"Muriel has just broke my heart what a wonderful lady. What a lovely thing it showed how much that meant to her . I would love to do that," said another

A third admitted: "Loving that segment on #ThisMorning where you made that ladies #dreamcometrueby sending her on a trip on a vintage steam train, #Muriel is a living legend #totesemosh."

And, not wanting to miss out on the Twitter action, Rylan himself posted a message, which read: "God bless ya Muriel. What a woman. And thank you for letting me do from a little idea to this. All worth it."

What an absolute babe.
